The 18-year-old was alleged to have committed the offence together with her stepsister, Zahidah Ahmad, 27, who was sentenced to the gallows on April 15, when they were both convicted.
The sentencing for the teenager was fixed for yesterday pending a probation report from the Welfare Department as she was underage when she committed the offence.
An officer from the department Abdul Gani Jemani who was present in court affirmed the report.
In sentencing, judge Datuk Akhtar Tahir said he had taken into consideration the age of the accused when she committed the offence and therefore could not impose the death sentence on her.
Deputy public prosecutor Iswa Tonie prosecuted while the girl was represented by counsel Tan Teck Yaw.
The girl was 16 years old when she and Zahidah were charged with murdering their stepmother Tanziah Zainuddin (then aged 72) at her (Tanziah’s) home at Lorong Kiyai Sujak, 20B, Taman Sri Wangi, Kapar, around 5.30pm on July 14, 2012.
