Sanjeevan killed by friend: Free Malaysia Today report not true

KUALA LUMPUR: Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar has denied the report by an online news portal Free Malaysia Today on Tuesday saying that he said the murder attempt on MyWatch chairman R. Sri Sanjeevan was perpetrated by the anti-crime activist's friend.


He made the statement through his Twitter account later that Tuesday night report NST. [Freemalaysiatoday]

Khalid tweeted at 11.47pm, "In my pc at Sunway or anywhere else, I never said that Ss was murdered by his friends. FMT report is Not true.@PDRMsia"

His next two tweets were, "I said, just allow us to investigate the case thoroughly before making any further comments. @PDRMsia" and "We know that shooting cases lately is worrying the Rakyat. Lets work together, we will make this country safe. @PDRMsia"

The 29-year-old anti-crime watchdog chairman was shot in the abdomen by a pillion rider on a motorcycle, which drew alongside the silver BMW he was driving, at an intersection in Taman Cempaka, Bahau, about 4.30pm on Saturday, July 27.

Sanjeevan was transferred to Serdang Hospital on Monday from the Tuanku Jaafar Hospital in Seremban to have the bullet in his rib area removed.
