Proton to launch affordable cars

Proton Holdings Bhd is set to launch a cheaper car on Saturday in line with the government's call for more affordable cars.

Senior company officials said the car, which will be a new variant of the existing model, will be 10 per cent cheaper.

Proton has also launched its Preve sedan in Indonesia.

It expects to initially sell 200 units of the model.
